Highlights What The Technology Can Do
The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is showcasing 10 of its students’ architectural projects. These projects range from a kindergarten classroom’s ability to withstand environmental disasters to exploring the legacy of the forgotten cemetery on Hart Island. A New York church’s interior is revamped for housing space. Another of the featured projects tries to discover the age when humans started interacting with public spaces. These projects are not possible without the use of 3D laser scanning services.
3D LASER Scanning Services and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
The architectural design course at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is designed to work with artists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and technologists to reimagine the future.
The idea is to create an ecologically conscious and energy-efficient environment using 3D scanning services and other advanced technologies. Students design buildings and infrastructure that invigorates and empowers community diversity.
The Institute teaches how architecture can help establish a more harmonious and productive relationship with nature while inspiring feelings of wonder.
Some of the other projects using a 3D laser scan include hybridizing architecture and landscape to show how the two are connected. In addition, a project depicting the fall of monuments also takes advantage of 3D scanning services.
