A 3D printing spin on COffee
America runs on coffee. You needn’t drive more than one minute down the road before you can find a coffee shop, and there is a good chance that it will be a Starbucks or a Coffee Beanery or some other famous brand coffee shop. We live in a coffee culture, and that’s why people like Beth Epstein, owner of Milk Street Cafe, is in the coffee business. In this day and age when 3D scanning services and 3D printing services are the thing, Beth is using some cool 3D printing technology to boost her business.
Hi-tech Brews with 3D printing
Beth is using her tech savvy smarts to keep an edge on the coffee scene. Most people would not think to mix 3D scanning services and 3D printing services with a cup of coffee, but living in a techie place like Boston, she feels it is necessary to keep it interesting. To do this, she went out and bought a Ripple Maker. The Ripple Maker is a 3D latte art printer. Say what?! You heard me right. A 3D latte art printer. This machine can put artwork on your coffee. That means that when she serves up a nice hot latte, the top frothy part will have a customized image printed on top. Talk about “have it my way!” (Oh wait, that’s not a coffee shop). The cool thing is that it is free. All you have to do is download an app and on the app choose a picture or upload one of your own. After that, place your order. Once you’ve arrived, you will have your personal latte personalized touch.
Make it personal
Some people may think it is a little weird, they just want a cup of coffee instead of a Mona Lisa. That’s okay, we understand. But there are a lot of good reasons why you would want to personalize your latte. Maybe you want to impress the lady in your life, or propose to her in a special way. What better way to say “Will you marry me?” than by saying it though a nice hot cup of coffee. Chances are she will say yes. But even if she gets offended and throws it in your face, it will at least let you will know the type of person you don’t have to spend the rest of your life with. Maybe you just need to have a personalized latte to remind yourself how special you are because you are drinking a personalized latte. The reason need not matter, as long as you enjoy it.
We can see that 3D scanning services and 3D printing services can turn even a cup of coffee into a work of art. Although, it does have its detractors. Some coffee gurus feel that it is only a gimmick used by coffee shops with bad coffee. But I would differ with them on that. In fact, most coffee shops do great business just sell caffeine and sugar. All that coffee is drowned out by caramel and pumpkin spice creamers. Thanks to 3D scanning services and 3D printing services the coffee shop experience just got more interesting.
