Beautiful Earring created from a lily pad thanks to 3D scanning services
Arrival 3D was contracted by a physician in the Tulsa Oklahoma City area to capture a very intricate organic shape to use as the pattern for a jewelry piece. The organic shape was scanned using a 3D laser scanner. A 3D model was created and modified to eliminate undercuts and create a flat back. The spaces between the “branches” were then cut out so that they could be seen through. The design was further modified by adding a reinforcing ring around the outside. The final result was printed using our high resolution 17 micron layer thickness to create a mold prototype of a jewelry piece.
