A lot of first-time 3D scanning customers have similar questions, so we will answer some of the more common ones here:
A: We have different scanners and techniques for different sized objects. We can scan tiny parts such as jewelry as well as very large machines that are many stories tall.
A. The accuracy depends on the size of the object and the scanner used. We can achieve below .001″ accuracy with CT scanning, but most mechanical parts typically require under .005″ accuracy which we can easily meet with our Faro Scanarm system. Long range scans have a much higher tolerance; .125″ accuracy is often achievable for areas of a plant or building.
A: Scanning ranges from hourly rates for in-house scanning to daily rates for on-site scanning, and varies based on equipment used. Please contact us for our current rates.
A: 99% of the time the answer is no.
