3D Laser Scanning for Factories & Indoor Manufacturing

Get Updated As-built Drawings Of Your Plant

A manufacturing facility is always moving and frequently changing, so it is very challenging to maintain accurate drawings of these types of facilities.  Space is at a premium, so careful planning is necessary to make use of available space. 3D laser scanning provides incredibly high value when scanning manufacturing plants. From a single 3D laser scanning section, you can receive:

  • Highly detailed and accurate color or b/w point cloud
  • As-built CAD model in Revit, AutoCAD or other formats
  • Plant layout and elevation drawings
  • Digital Twin online virtual walk-through
  • Floor flatness and other types of analyses

Contact us today for a consultation and find out how Arrival3D can bring the accuracy and cost-saving benefits of 3D laser scanning to your project.

Common Deliverables for Projects in This Industry and their Uses

We utilize a large team of experienced CAD modelers to create as-built 3D models at any level-of-detail (LOD) that you choose.

The model scope can cover the entire facility or be limited to certain areas based on your needs and budget.

QA/QC is utilized throughout the process, ensuring that you receive a Revit model that is accurate, of high quality and made with professional standards.

    Recommendations For Success

When scanning such complex environments, it may seem overwhelming to try and capture everything. If your budget doesn’t allow for a complete scan of the whole plant, we can tailor the scanning scope to the area surrounding a specific project.

Similar to the scanning scope, the CAD modeling scope should also be optimized so that you get the minimum detail necessary, but no more.  This insures that you are getting the most out of every dollar.  For example, if you didn’t care about 3/4″ conduit, you wouldn’t want to blow your whole budget trying to model conduit in a smaller area of the plant, when you could have a much larger area without conduit.

    Digital Twin for manufacturing

    Factory Walk Through Digital Twin

We’d like to invite you to try using the digital twin online walkthrough and would be happy to arrange a free test site, upon prior approval. We think digital twins of indoor manufacturing plants are some of the best uses of the technology. The density of the environment combined with ease of navigation and safety factors makes the digital twin a better option than being there in person in many cases.

Exciting opportunities exist for managing information in the digital twin, and empowering users to find information in a different way – by walking over the equipment in the digital space. It’s natural and intuitive,  and people like using it. It also has powerful engineering and facility management uses.

Reach out to us and let us know if you are interested in factory digital twins.
