Name - The Golden Driller, Tulsa, OKC

Struction Description - 75-ft-tall concrete-and-steel oil worker statue (43,500 lb) – symbolic landmark of Tulsa’s oil industry

Location - Tulsa Expo Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Project Type - Monument / Cultural Heritage Preservation

Services Provided - 3D Laser Scanning, Point Cloud Registration, As-Built Modeling (BIM LOD 300), Digital Twin Creation

Objective - Digitally capture and preserve the monument for documentation, restoration, and future analysis

Description - The Arrival 3D team performed a full-coverage LiDAR scan of the 75-ft Golden Driller using the Leica RTC360 system.
In under one day, the team captured over 120 scan positions, producing a high-density, colorized point cloud with an accuracy of ± 2 mm.
Post-processing in Cyclone REGISTER 360 and Autodesk Revit generated a LOD 300 as-built model for the Tulsa Expo Center.
The resulting digital twin preserves the city’s historic monument for future maintenance, restoration planning, and virtual exhibitions — a perfect blend of heritage and technology.
Challenges:
1. Large height requiring elevated tripod setups
2. Public access limitations during scanning
3. Uneven lighting conditions for RGB color consistency
