    What Was Scanned

Welcome to the heart of Seattle, where Arrival 3D is hard at work scanning the cherished Gas Works Park. This public gem stands on the grounds of the historic Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant. Arrival 3D has taken on the mission to craft a state-of-the-art 3D model showcasing the intricate details of the factory equipment. We’re turning the past into an immersive digital experience, and we are excited to share the journey with you!

We start with the data collection process that takes mere hours onsite. Clean, compact, and efficient – that’s our promise.

The result? An incredibly accurate point cloud, a million data points creating a digital tapestry of the area’s intricacies. Beyond capturing necessary measurements, this project is about spatial planning and design precision. Whether you prefer the raw power of a point cloud or a polished Revit CAD model, Arrival 3D delivers both.

    Scanner Used

At Arrival 3D, our toolbox is equipped with an impressive array of 3D scanners, each tailored for diverse tasks. Among our latest and most favored additions are the Leica RTC360 scanners – the champions of versatility. We’ve strategically positioned multiple RTC360 scanners across the United States, and they’ve become our go-to for a multitude of reasons.

What sets the RTC360 apart? Picture this: lightning-fast scanning with a complete full dome scan and spherical HDR image captured in under 2 minutes at a remarkable 6mm @ 10m resolution. This scanner boasts 3D point accuracy of 1.9 mm @ 10 m, 2.9 mm @ 20 m, and 5.3 mm @ 40 m. Whether you need to scan up close or push the boundaries, the RTC360’s range extends from a minimum of 0.5 m to an impressive 130 m.

Portability is key in our line of work, and the RTC360 nails it. Weighing in at a mere 5.5 kg (11.7 lbs) and paired with a collapsible tripod, this scanner is our ticket to reaching clients swiftly and efficiently.

On-site, the user-friendly interface makes setup a breeze, catering to a spectrum of 3D scan requirements – from low to high resolution, color or grayscale, with the added bonus of tilt control. Real-time registration, powered by the Visual Inertial System (VIS), ensures seamless point cloud alignment between setups.

The Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 software for the RTC360 is our trusted ally in integrating 3D point clouds. The output files integrate seamlessly with industry titans like Autodesk Revit and Dassault SolidWorks, making collaboration a seamless process.

With Arrival 3D, it’s not just about scanning; it’s about sculpting reality with precision and efficiency. Welcome to the future of 3D scanning excellence!

    Deliverables

Our client’s vision demands precision, and we are here to deliver! To meet their requirements for a 3D point cloud in .RCP format, Arrival 3D starts by 3D laser scanning the subject. Multiple scans are combined into a single registered 3D file, creating a registered “point cloud”. This dynamic data represents a full-fledged 3D image, a digital entity that can be navigated, measured, and explored from every angle.

Every individual scan is placed in a common coordinate system, ensuring a seamless fusion of perspectives. The result is a file that is ready for use with Autodesk Software, perfectly aligned and waiting to transform your vision into reality. Should specific alignments or adjustments be desired, we are more than happy to customize this beautiful puzzle to suit our client’s every need.

In addition, Arrival 3D will generate a practical 3D Revit model, also available as an AutoCAD .dwg file, using point cloud data to depict existing structural steel, equipment, piping, and conduit elements at LOD 300. This CAD model provides a robust foundation for seamlessly integrating new equipment into the current structure, revolutionizing the way we approach innovation and integration at every level.

    Added Value

Arrival 3D has often been the trusted solution for architectural projects that become frustrating due to the shortcomings of manual measurements. Clients, having invested considerable time and resources into constructing sub-assemblies that refuse to fit, turn to us for a rescue mission. In a world where existing architectural structures rarely come with accurate blueprints, and dimensions subtly shift over time, Arrival 3D steps in with precision 3D scanning. We transform the chaos into clarity, providing meticulous documentation of the areas in question.

The peace of mind that is inherent with a digital representation of a project is priceless and the ability to share this accurate data with the entire team instantly, and often remotely, is one of the wonderful benefits that these technologies allow us today. It’s not just about scans; it’s about salvaging architectural visions, redefining precision, and ensuring a seamless path to success. Welcome to Arrival 3D – where challenges meet solutions, and precision reigns supreme.
