    Our client, a large construction company in Los Angeles, are in the process of completing a new Apartment building in Los Angeles. To proceed to finishing stages, the company must verify & document Floor Flatness in various areas of the build.

    Arrival 3D are tasked with 3D Laser Scanning of the designated areas in order to document existing floor flatness conditions, then to provide analysis upon where to resurface the floors so as to meet stringent criteria for finishing stages.

    Arrival 3D have a large inventory of 3D Scanners suited to a variety of tasks. Our most recent acquisitions, and currently our favored multi-tasking 3D Scanners, are our Leica RTC360’s. Arrival 3D now have several Leica RTC-360’s positioned strategically around the United States. We use the RTC360’s frequently due to their great versatility; portable size, long range accuracy and rapid scanning capability. 


    Our client required a complete Floor Flatness analysis report following each of our visits to the site. These reports were utilized for remedial work at the site, then the work was subsequently re-scanned & reported upon until the floors met criteria and the company had documentation to verify the matter.

    Pictured opposite is a component of a floor flatness report in which the varying relative heights of a floor are represented graphically. In addition, numerous data points with dimensional information are visible.

    The Floor Flatness report is generated from data captured onsite via our 3D Laser Scanners. This file type comprises the combined points from several scans into a single, registered point cloud. The data represents a full 3D image of the subject which can be navigated through, which can provide measurements and angles, and which enables Flat Floor analysis.
