3D Laser Scanning vs. The Old Way

Is 3D laser scanning services?

Some people are just stuck in their ways. One reason for that is because, well, quite frankly, they just like it that way. My grandma wouldn’t by a microwave to win the lottery.  She was stuck on the stove. My brother and I would try to convince her, but she wouldn’t budge. We even bought her one and put it she out in the garage. Should would have nothing to do with that thing. Then again there are those who always say the the newer is truer, and the later is greater. I am willing to bet though that those folks never did take a sip of Coke II or Crystal Pepsi.  After a few gags we all went back to the old. So which is better, the new or the old? When we talk about things like 3D laser scanning services, which is better, 3D laser scanning or the traditional survey methods? Well, I suppose there is some good and bad in both.

Sometimes 3D laser scanning gets beat by the Oldie

For starters, I want to make it clear that 3D laser scanning services takes the cake and eats it too. No one will argue with that, but that is not to say that it is the best choice in a every situation. Sometimes, though, even the champs lose a game. 3D laser scanning gets sent to the penalty box when the job is too small.  Why would you need to set up a laser scanner or hire someone to come out to do a job if it is something that can be done quickly with a yardstick and tape measure? Wasting money is never in style nor is it smart. So you have decide if the job is big enough. 3D laser scanning services require expensive equipment. Not only that but it also requires special software training. Software is not self-taught very easily. Training requires extra time and expense. To make a long story short, count the cost.  If it’s not worth the money, then do it the old way.

3D Laser Scanning is the Man

Having said all of that, though, 3D laser scanning services always comes back with a power play. The old way looks good for a while but new technologies always get the victory lap in the long run.  3D laser scanning gives you a super accurate and thorough capture of the object or area which you are scanning. This means that there will be no need to stay awake at night worrying about the measurements being a bit off. Pictures don’t lie and neither do scanners. That also means that you are not going to have to go back out to the sight and recheck measurements.  Once that thing is scanned and in the computer, you can put on your nightcap and get a good night’s rest. In the morning can manipulate and modify the measurements a;; you want. You can pass the digital models around like popcorn for others to look at.

So unless you are strapped for cash or have a project so small that calling in 3D laser scanning services would be a waste of time, you had better take the high road. Coke II failed because they tried to remake the same thing. 3D laser scanning doesn’t just polish the traditional way. It gives it a swift kick in the pants and sends it to it’s room. It is a whole new and better way to collect data.
