Our Substation Scanning Workflow

  1. Establish survey control with GNSS/total station so scans tie into the utility’s coordinate system.
  2. Perform terrestrial and/or mobile laser scanning around and within the yard while maintaining required electrical clearances.
  3. Register and clean the point cloud, colorize with photos if captured, and georeference to project coordinates.
  4. Create a structured 3D model or BIM (equipment, steel, buswork, conduits, foundations, fencing, terrain) at the required level of detail.
